Mercury's magnetic field support for the early solar system
In 1975, the spacecraft Mariner 10 flew by Mercury by NASA at a distance of 327 km (203 miles). He wore a team that measured the planet's magnetic field. Nine years later, physicist Russell D. Humphreys predicted that the magnetic field of Mercury with the weakening of 1990 from 1.8 percent in 1975.
No space probe to Mercury was posted in 1990. Now, the Messenger probe flew by the planet closest to the solar system. Preliminary data on the magnetic field in the publicationJuly to science. The results show that Humphreys was correct - the magnetic field of Mercury is actually much lower than in 1975 to around 4 percent.
Humphrey calculations to estimate the biblical age of the solar system (about 6000 years) is founded. "My four per cent reduction in just 33 years predicted that it would be very difficult for evolutionary theories of planetary magnetic fields to explain," Dr. Humphrey writes on the site of Creation Ministries International.
"IfNASA's space program began decades ago, nobody expected the magazine to defend so strong, "said Humphreys.
Other evidence also indicate a young solar system. For example, the cycle is relatively young methanological on Saturn's moon Titan. The rain of liquid methane on Titan. Recently, researchers from Johns Hopkins University in Laurel, Maryland, examined the images sent by the Huygens space probe. They found that less Tholin, a compound of carbon,The hydrogen and nitrogen, provided that the surface of Titan, a model that considers the age of the solar system billions of years.
Another interesting fact that tells of a young solar system is the existence of short-period comets. Each time a comet orbits the Sun, it loses some of its mass and, therefore, a comet in the short term could be more than 100 000 years. Astronomers have speculated that a hypothetical line of the Oort cloud that area up to three years in the light of the flameSol is home to millions of icy comets. From time to time change these comets cold, a shorter path is closer to the sun. However, there is no evidence of monitoring for the existence of this cloud. In other words, the Oort cloud was invented, because faith is necessary for a solar age.
The weakening of the magnetic field of Mercury is added to the list the proofs of a charming young solar system.
